Alastair Colin-Jones

Senior Director, Business Transformation & Learning


Alastair has been implementing, researching, and teaching the Economics of Mutuality operating model since 2016; transitioning from Mars Catalyst (the internal think-tank of Mars) to Mutual Value Labs in August 2020.  

He has a decade of experience in the ‘translation’ and effective communication of academic research into actionable insights for practitioner audiences across sectors – business, government, and non-profit.  

As Senior Director at Mutual Value Labs, he is currently responsible for leading a variety of purpose-led transformation projects across diverse sectors including clients such as Mars, Natwest Group, Asahi, and JLL. As well as spearheading the development of strategic executive education programmes and managing a large-scale research initiative on making ESG metrics more meaningful. Alastair is based in Geneva with his family and leads the Geneva office.  

Previously, he was the Knowledge Manager at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and prior to that helped to start and grow a psychology-led behaviour support social enterprise in Oxford. He is also a Non-Executive Director of New Ground Coffee, a growth stage purpose-led coffee business employing ex-offenders in the UK. 

Alastair has a first class undergraduate and a graduate degree from the University of Oxford. He grew up in Southeast Asia and is half British and half Singaporean.
